Sleepless

Sleepless; the distance between my senses lengthen
To the fore my eye moves reverently
Freed from the charge of the mind
Let loose my spirit in a jaded haze

Sleepless; there is glittered universe in glinting asphalt
To the sky that holds my being over roads
Driving on past fields and its whiskered countenance
As it's sunlit gaze belies deep wisdom

Sleepless; the versions of myself fade in the wash
As chalked clouds carry my misted essence
I wondered from place less in rest than hunting owls
On what is real in form and thought
When sleepless...I travel beyond
